Our Story

Julia Kastner had always HATED jeans shopping. No pair was ever quite right:

  • Too tight at waist & thighs

  • Gapped in back

  • Fell apart too quickly

  • When Julia graduated from Harvard Business School in 2012, she moved to New York City and recruited the help of Christine Rucci of Denimafia, Inc. to rethink the modern jean.

  • Through our innovative approach to fit, with different shapes for each size, our jeans are made for the shapes of real women, not just the impossibly skinny.

Social Mission

  • We make our jeans with a social and environmental conscience. Our organic denim is made from cotton sourced from family farms in India, in partnership with Arvind Agribusiness.

  • By investing in organic farming, we reduce the use of pesticides and help farmers double or triple their incomes.

  • We work with a nonprofit, N.E.S.T., and an Indian company, Moral Fibre, to source fair trade hand-printed pockets.

  • Our partners ensure better wages and working conditions for these Indian artisans, and, through access to education and healthcare, better futures for their children.
